The easier option: If installing without removing the intercooler, use the rear inner tappet cover bolts on one or both cylinder heads if you are using an EG01-2 dual sensor system. We have had customers (including fleet mechanics…) report that the rear tappet cover bolt locations provide good fast response to temp changes, but if you are aiming for the optimal temp response see pics 3 – 6.
The following sensor locations require removing the intercooler. The pics were sent to us by a mechanic who installed a system on his 200 series Landcruiser (plus a mates car). This was an ENGINE GUARD EG01-2 system with a sensor on both cylinder heads.
